Tomoyo is the best friend (and cousin) of Sakura in Cardcaptor Sakura. She is sweet, playful, kind, has the voice of an angel, and also is the only daughter of a very, very rich mother. She is also devotedly in love with Sakura, but has accepted Sakura will never return her feelings. She insistently dresses up Sakura in ridiculous but adorable outfits and films as much as she can when Sakura heads out to hunt Clow Cards.

In Tsubasa, CLAMP's big crossover AU fanfic of their own works, two different versions of Tomoyo play important roles.

In the country of Nihon, Tomoyo is a princess and dreamseer known as Tsukuyomi; her older sister Kendappa, known as Amaterasu, is the empress. Tomoyo sends her faithful ninja Kurogane on his journey across dimensions to teach him 'true strength.' Tomoyo continues to do what she can to help Kurogane and his companions, eventually giving up her ability as a dreamseer to save them.

In Piffle, Tomoyo is the president of Piffle Corporation, who manages to (a) get her hands on one of Sakura's feathers (b) communicate with her other self in Nihon. She is enthusiastically infatuated with Sakura, and helps her and her companions.

I really do recommend watching the Granada series- the production quality and acting are ace, and the writing is mostly good. (Also, Watson doesn't get married. Hee.)

- re:The Master Blackmailer : it was a good move for them to include a gay man as one of Milverton's blackmail victims. Horribly sad, but realistic, and Holmes and Watson are nicely sympathetic. This is also the story where Holmes disguises himself as a laborer and becomes engaged to Milverton's housemaid. I do appreciate that the tv series did try to make the maid more of an actual character and not just a convenient plot device, but all the same, the scenes with Holmes and the maid were just awkward.

- re:The Mazarin Stone : Strangely enough, the episode actually ended up being much better than the original short story. But then again, the original story is one of the worst in canon. It was a good move to combine the plots of The Mazarin Stone and The Three Garridebs. Holmes is only in the episode for a few moments (because Brett was sick), and it's pretty cool to see Watson and Mycroft team up to fight crime. My only complaint is that we didn't get That Scene. (We did, however, get to see Holmes fuss over what to get Watson for Christmas. Hee.)

- re: The Golden Pince-Nez : Hmm. It's realistic to have a Victorian man be a misogynist asshole who completely disrespects suffragists, but it's disappointing all the same, because I expected more of Mycroft, and it would have been more interesting to see him be supportive. He -did- chide Sherlock for his bad opinion of women in The Greek Interpreter. But ACD did, in general, put women on a ridiculous pedestal in his stories.

My torrent of the Russian tv series just finished, so I'll be watching that over the next week or so. I've heard good things about it.
