So I’ve been meaning to get to them for months, but I started watching The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and they’re great! I marathoned it all today since I’m working the night shift tonight.

One thing that’s really great is what a compelling job they’ve done with Lydia. Honestly though, Lydia’s story has always been the one part of Pride and Prejudice that doesn’t sit well with me. I mean, Elizabeth gets so much character development, but in the book, Lydia is a selfish and self-absorbed person who gets stuck in a marriage to an even more horrible and selfish man who doesn’t even like her, all because she made a mistake when she was fifteen. Lydia never really had a chance to grow up and become a better person. But LBD -and especially Lydia’s own vlog- have given Lydia much more depth, and I trust the writers will give her the chance she deserves to escape Wickham.
