A/N Apparently this is what I write at 1 AM. This is a sort of AU/Fix-it fic that I wish I could have submitted to Noah_who if the bug had bitten me then. It's John Dixon's POV during Chris's illness, and I hope John is at least reasonably in-character; but it's been so long since he was really a regular on the show. For those of you who might not know show history- Lyla Peretti is the mother of Margo, Craig, and Katie. Margo is also John's daughter. In case you haven't heard, there's all sorts of heinous misogynist bullshit going on in the House of Representatives. Check out Shakesville for posts detailing what's going on. Suffice it to say that anti-choice people don't want to save babies, they want to control women- same as usual.
